So I'm sure several of you are rather confused right now... lol

ok so, yes this is who you think it is.

EXPLANATION TEIM!!!!

The name Sephyrus was too long, sounded to much like Sephiroth and was often pronounced 2 different ways.

so I ditched it.

The new name was meant to be... more meaningful. I wanted a name that would group this guy among many other legendary knights. Something strong and simple like Richard, Edward, or Arthur. So naturally I wanted to use a name of anglo saxon or more specifically gaelic descent. I chose Alan because for one, it's my middle name :B and also because it is gaelic and means "rock" which is fitting for a knight.

Now I know alot of people are thinking, "meh alan is such a boring name for a fantasy character though..."

Well that's actually another reason I picked it. The name does not make the character the character makes the name. Look at Link or Cloud...normal words made awesome because they were given to an awesome character.

Thorne was honestly the first anglo saxon surname I found in google and ironically the name of my first ever OC. O.o

so there you have it. I also researched all of the past versions of this character I have done in the past and tried to incorporate all my favorite aspects aswell as add some new ones.

Hope you guys like this new design as much as I do. I could ramble more about my inspirations and research that went into this but I would be suprised if 30% of the people that look at this bother to read it lol.

its almost disgusting how great this is, and its only line art! (not dissing line art, but i mean most things r best in color) but geeeez, to be honest i would like to say u r what i hope to be like, ur art style is great! such detail in your armor and its not even bulky. its amazing i hope to jsut find my own style but urs is still very good. uhg soo good lol

You must really give yourself more credit; there are lots of people who would bother to read this!

With regards to naming, if the new moniker feels right to you as the creator, and if it makes sense within the mythos of his world, then it is a fine name. This is the evolution of character development at its finest--I know that I certainly didn't settle on the names of MY characters the first time. It's a journey.
